Project Description

A third group of third graders gets the colored shadow box project handed off to them, picking up where the previous group left off – designing the electrical switches. Charged with making the original prototypes into fully functioning reality, this group of student dove right in.

After spending some time learning about the behavior of shadows that result from multiple light sources, and becoming familiar with the work that had already been done, construction began in earnest.

Wires were cut. Circuits were run. Switches were installed. Shadow scenes were reconstructed. The screens were reattached. By week’s end, six different displays could be found in the Studio(i) gallery.
